At Gordian Strapping, we’re proud of the people behind the business. Recently, one of our own demonstrated dedication and resilience in a truly inspiring way.
Stephanie Cameron, Service Administrator at Gordian Strapping, took on the London Marathon in support of a cause very close to her heart.
Running for a great cause
Stephanie raised an incredible £2,500 for St. Michael’s Hospice (North Hampshire). Having seen firsthand the comfort and care they gave her parents, she wanted to give something back.
To make her fundraising even more meaningful, she offered “memory miles” – giving supporters the chance to dedicate each of the 26 miles to someone special. With those names printed on the back of her running vest, every step of the race was run in honour of someone’s loved one.
Stephanie had originally planned to run the marathon the previous year, but an injury forced her to defer her place. She returned stronger this year with a target time of 5 hours, crossing the finish line in an impressive 5 hours and 18 minutes – or “4 hours and 78 minutes”, as Stephanie likes to say! She beat both Joe Wicks and Daddy Pig along the way, even managing a selfie mid-race.

Proudly supported by the Gordian team
Stephanie’s efforts were supported across Gordian, including a generous contribution from Andrew and the team. She proudly wore the Gordian logo on her running vest, kindly printed at no cost by Harlequin, who also support the hospice.

The next challenge
After completing the marathon, Stephanie said she wouldn’t be doing another one anytime soon… though she admits she could be persuaded. True to form, she’s already signed up for her next running challenge – a ladies’ run in Portsmouth this June.
