Introducing Mercia Garden Products Ltd
Mercia Garden Products employs over 150 people and is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of timber garden products. Constant market analysis has enabled Mercia to develop an extensive range of products to cater to a wide range of customer requirements. Therefore, a highly efficient production line with fully automatic strapping machines is absolutely necessary.
All the timber in their products is sourced from forests that are well-managed and sustainable, resulting in the development of a new product range that complies fully with the Code for Sustainable Homes.

A machine that's all the rage for a garden range
When Mercia approached us asking for a strapping solution that would increase warehouse efficiency, we had just the machine in mind.
Replacing the existing machines, we provided an upgrade to the always-impressive StraPack RQ-8A.
The two previous StraPack automatic strapping machines had lasted for over 13 years and this gave Mercia Garden Products the confidence to invest in two more. They’ve also got a third StraPack machine that has been in full operation in their facility for over 14 years.
Now that’s reliability.
The machines are used for strapping garden sheds and children’s playhouses so need a certain level of solidity – which the StraPack brand provides.

The two StraPack RQ-8A machines were built to their required specifications. They took advantage of our in-house engineering team who can create custom modifications to ensure full machine capability.
For Mercia, this involved the widening of the arches to a standardised 2650 mm arch. The previous models were two different sizes so this allowed greater flexibility to move the machines around the warehouse and fit them into existing conveyor lines.
