Before you purchase
Experienced sales team
When you’re deciding whether to invest in a strapping, wrapping or hooding machine, our sales team are on-hand to help. We can answer any questions you may have and help you select the right machine for your needs. They’ve got hundreds of years of experience between them and, if there’s anything they don’t know about packaging machinery, it’s not worth knowing!
Onsite assessment
The safety of our customers is paramount, so we provide a free onsite assessment prior to purchase. This allows us to check that the equipment suits the requirements of your business and meets health and safety regulations. So, you can be sure that the packaging machine you buy is suitable for your needs and compliant with industry standards.
Customised modifications
If you need your machine tailored bespoke to your needs, our in-house engineers can carry out customised modifications. Our sales team can guide you through the process from beginning to end and help you identify what modifications you need.
You might need a taller arch to fit your products, or a slower application feed to suit your end-of-line system. Whatever your requirements, we can modify your machine to get the best results for you.

We offer extensive maintenance and repair services to get your packaging machines back up and running. Our network of 16 service engineers spans nationwide, so wherever you’re based, there’s a Gordian Strapping engineer close to you.
Our engineers carry a full range of spare parts with them, so most faults can be repaired on their first visit to your site. For more complex repairs, we have a comprehensive stock of parts at our head office which can often be sourced overnight.
Our engineers are all highly qualified, with safety passports that are refreshed every year (including work-at-height training).Â
As part of your service contract, a dedicated engineer will carry out regular maintenance checks on your machine to identify and repair faults before they cause a problem. This is the best way to minimise downtime for operations and protect your business’ best interests.
Customer engineering training
If you want to get the most from your packaging machine, we can provide specialist training to your own engineerings at our Basingstoke HQ. Training is available for all levels – from light operators through to maintenance technicians.
We have a highly experienced team of trainers who will ensure that personnel are informed and up-to-date with the latest safety regulations as well as best practices for maintaining your machine. Get in touch here if you are interested.
When your packaging machine breaks down
Our machines are extremely robust and last a long time – usually 10 years or longer depending on the application. This machine that recently reached the end of its life had notched up 4.7 million straps!
WEEE take-back scheme
We are fully committed to lowering our carbon footprint and reducing the amount of waste we produce. That’s why we offer a take-back scheme on our free-standing strapping and stretch wrapping machines, in-line with the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations.
Machinery can contain toxic chemicals – essential for their use but detrimental to the environment once disposed of. It’s essential that WEEE is disposed of safely once its lifespan is reached.
As a member of the Producer Compliance Scheme, our machinery that has reached the end of its useful life can be collected and disposed of through an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF) or an Approved Exporter (AE).
We can transport your old machinery directly from your premises or from our base to the AATF site. While there is no charge for disposal, collection is quoted for based on current vehicle operating costs.
Whether it is disassembly, shredding, or recovery, we can arrange collection and disposal. This includes further treatment and recycling, so we can reduce our carbon footprint – and yours too.
