What were you doing in 1994?
Perhaps watching newly released Pulp Fiction at the cinema? Getting to know Chandler, Monica, Rachel, Ross, Joey and Phoebe in the first episode of Friends? Listening along to ‘Parklife’ and ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ on your Sony Discman?
Perhaps, like the person writing this blog, you were merely an accident waiting to happen.
Well for a fresh-faced hardback and paperback book producer, 1994 was the year that they made the inspired decision to install a StraPack strapping machine to their print facilities.
28 years on and the machine was still in full operation and performing admirably for an old boy.
Whilst some might call this machine a cool retro classic, technology has moved on somewhat from the 90s and it was unanimously decided that more than a new lick of paint was needed.
This came in the form of a brand new StraPack SQ-800Y, built specially for this companies needs. Our engineers worked to complete special modifications on the machine in order to integrate into their existing print house stacker.
Great Machines, Great Engineers
28 years of operational machine use, whilst rare, shows just how reliable the StraPack machines are. Through regular servicing, this machine was able to reach it’s silver anniversary – highlighting the importance of our engineering team which is the largest in the industry.
They were there throughout the years to ensure that the previous machine continued to run smoothly and they’ve also been there at the beginning of this new chapter with the modifications on the SQ-800Y machine.
